For this brief I have to source a client and provide them with a clear outline of what the finished product will be.

I will contact independent clothing stores in the Didsbury area, but first I have gone online to see who would be the most realistic shop to approach. Meaning the shops without a website or promotional items would be more than willing to work along side me rather than a store that has marketed itself well.

Before I start I have to think about key points such as, what do I expect from my client and what do they expect from me. I will be looking into their background and try to get as much inspiration as I possibly can to strengthen the brief I will write up for the client. In order for me to firm grasp on what my client wants I will have to get to know them well enough for me to deliver a strong and well executed brief.

Style & Audience                                                                                                                                                                             As far as shooting the clothes, I would like to do two separate shoots. One where the clothes are off the models and placed onto a stand or hanging on their own. And the other shoot would include models. I am interested in the photographer Laura Pannack. The style Pannack shoots in is ‘dead pan’. This is where the subject is posing with an expressionless characteristic. I am interested in shooting in this style because the targeted audience for this kind of clothes is alliterative. So the deadpan style should complement the style of clothes.

What I will deliver to the client                                                                                                                                                     From looking at the clothing stores I’m interested in working with I have noticed they don’t have much of an online presence. If they agree I will either talk to them about creating one for them or get someone capable enough to create a professional website with them so then can start selling clothing online. I will shoot the clothes, both by themselves and on models. I will also create a brochure and any other promotional material if required by the client. The client I have chosen to approach is called ‘The Junk Shop’. I have noticed outside their store they have a different poster in a board every so often showing off their new line. I could also deliver a poster or a print for display.
